5 Reasons To Go On A Holiday

5 Reasons To Go On A Holiday

I’ve recently had my winter break in Bali, and it’s prompted me to write this blog on the importance of taking a holiday!

It’s very easy for us to go a year, maybe even 2 without even a weekend away!  Worries such as money, time away from work or family seem to hold us back.  This leads to stress, fatigue and burnout!  It’s just not worth it.  So if you’ve been contemplating a break, hopefully I can convince you with the following points to book those flights!

1.  Relieve Stress:

As soon as you jump in the car or FullSizeRenderget on that plane stress eases.  Relieving your brain of the constant worries at home is the key.  Make the decision to switch off from your electronic devices and try not to check your emails!  Several studies have shown a direct link between stress and health conditions such as headaches, cardiovascular disease, cancer and other types of infections acquired as a result of a weaker immune system.  It has also been scientifically established that taking holidays reduces the incidence of burnout.  By easing stress, it allows us to regain energy.  It may give us a new perspective on life.  Quite often, we might find obvious or simple solutions to the problems that had previously seemed impossible to solve!

2.  Improve your mental skills:

Some studies have found a positive relationship between vacations and intellectual function.  A well-rested mind that is free of worry is often more effective. You will hopefully return from your holiday more productive and motivated as you’ve had the chance to take time out.

3.  Improve your physical health:

A holiday allows you that time to catch up on sleep and exercise.  Make sure you treat yourself to nice meals, a massage, or simply a day by the pool with a good book.  Give yourself some time to rejuvenate so you come back from your trip feeling refreshed.

4.  Strengthen family ties:

Our personal relationships can tend to suffer with everyday life stressors.  Quality time together to bond and have connected conversations is vital to continue to grow together.

5.  Enjoy life!

Taking time off can be a great opportunity to meet new people, see new places, laugh and do the things you most enjoy!

Once you return from your holiday, aim to make plans for the next one!  We function so much better when we have something to look forward to.  I have already booked another week away late November.  I couldn’t resist the cheap Bali flights! haha
