Remedial Massage

The goal of remedial massage is to help the body return to normal health after injury and can be an effective modality for pain management of chronic musculoskeletal conditions, postural conditions, sporting and occupational injuries. Employing a variety of treatments and techniques such as Cupping, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Technique and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, treatment is designed to remediate the given condition by reducing or eliminating pain and restoring function.

Relaxation Massage

A relaxation massage treatment utilises long, short and smooth gliding strokes to softly manipulate your muscles, decreasing general muscle tension and is the perfect way to destress the body and the mind.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnant mothers experience unique physical and emotional changes, resulting from increases in weight, shifting posture and increasing/decreasing hormone levels during pregnancy. Despite this being a beautiful period of heightened expectation and joy, it also carries with it significant physical discomfort. Using long, gliding massage techniques, prenatal massage benefits include:

 

  • Emotional support through nurturing touch
  • Reduced oedema in hands and feet
  • Can help with the prevention of varicose veins
  • Alleviate back and neck pain caused by muscular imbalance/weakness

Prenatal massage is safe from the 2nd trimester, however, please note that everyone is different so if you have any doubts, please seek advice from your treating doctor or obstetrician.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is an ideal cool down following sports or vigorous exercise and can significantly help in improving your recovery time from muscle soreness and sports injuries. Sports massage works by releasing tight muscles and surrounding tissues, reducing the risk of injury.

 

We offer a one-hour initial massage consultation and 60, 45 or 30 minute subsequent consultations.

 

An initial consultation is required first, so that we can get to know you and what will help you achieve your health and wellness goals.

A one-hour initial massage consultation includes:

 

  • A thorough subjective and objective assessment, so we can tailor a treatment plan to help you achieve your health and wellness goals
  • A discussion about your Care Plan and if required, take-home advice
  • Your massage treatment (approx. 45 minutes)
